Sparkwood and 21: My First Novel (Free .pdf)
In 1999, I finished my first novel, Sparkwood and 21, just after my first son was born. Needless to say, life has intervened and it is too late to return to it. It is completed, though un-edited. Classify it as a work of experimental sci-fi, with a ton of insane character names as well as obvious and obscure pop culture references.

Each day that passes adds evidence to one of the inexorable facts of our existence: it is not unique and, if we survive as a species, we will eventually encounter extra-terrestrial life.
One of the key barometers of this is the number of planets that have been discovered outside our solar system. Other key barometers are also listed below.

Total number of planets currently known to harbor life: 1
Total number of planets currently known to harbor intelligent life: 1
Total number of planets inhabited by humans: 1 (visit The Mars Society for information about changing this number)
